What/who inspired you to start?

My mother was a painter and sculptor. So I have always painted. I was inspired to start painting people on instagram when I this really beautiful photo in a feed that I follow, and I decided to try and paint it. Not to copy it, but to try and get the emotion out of it more than a photo could. If you could have any super power what would it be and why?

I am going to have to go with ‘the ability to always be safe’ – what I mean is, if I did some crazy stunt I would always land the trick – because I had the super power to always be safe. Like no fear ever of busting your face when you are doing something crazy!

Tell us a story/incident that has happened to you that may have made you feel defeated. Now tell us how you overcame that. hmmm and incident where I felt defeated. Okay so when I was in art school I got sick. I had to move back home with my parents after being away for a semester. I had worked so hard to get into art school and had felt so grown up moving away and living on my own. So, I felt like my life was over having to come back. I felt like a loser because I got sick. Which, looking back is so crazy, but that is how I felt at the time. What actually got me through it was running. Running even a little every day gave me a strength of mind to help me feel less shit about being sick. Tell us something fun/unique about you that most people don’t know.

When I was little I could draw the exact same thing at the same time with both hands. My grandmother was so amazed at what I could do that she would make me perform for her friends / strangers. It was really embarrassing. Have you ever been underestimated simply for being a woman? Tell us how.

I am overjoyed to say that no. I haven’t. Or if I have, I was too obtuse to realize it was happening. What are your goals with your amazing designs?

My goal is the same every morning. When I find something inspiring and I start to paint it. And it is usually a girl or a woman that I am painting, I say a prayer for the person while I do it. Like I just think to myself ‘god. let this girl have a happy life. Let her achieve her dreams. Let what I am making here cheer her up in some way’ So I guess that is my goal with what I do – to inspire and cheer up and basically spread joy. I am so sappy but its true.
